Using an ISA, the you can deduct amounts from your income tax according to the guidelines of SARS over the lifespan of the asset

With an ISA you take ownership of the asset from the commencement date of the financing term, while the Finance Provider will remain the title holder. The asset will be recognised on your balance sheet, along with the lease obligation as a liability.

Using an ISA, you can deduct amounts from your income tax according to the guidelines of SARS over the lifespan of the asset. In cases where the asset has a lifespan of longer than 5 years and the tax deduction takes place over a period exceeding 5 years, we would recommend an operating lease to accelerate the possible tax deductions.

A rental is an off-balance sheet transaction, and you do not show an asset OR liability on your balance sheet

With a Rental the finance provider remains the owner and title holder of the asset for the duration of the financing term. You can obtain ownership of the asset at the end of the term, through a “rent-to-own” option.

With a Sale and Lease-back, the Finance Provider purchases an asset from you which has already been paid off, and leases it back to you, either through an ISA or a rental. The asset never leaves your property.
